Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, born in Wellington,) is a Canadian actor from Canada. Paquin is a native of Canada and New Zealand-born actress. Born in Winnipeg however, she was raised in Wellington She was the first actress to appear in The Piano. In this romantic drama film at the age of 11, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin was born on July 24, 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster as Best Supporting Actress playing the enthusiastic and curious daughter of Holly Hunter's leading role on the film The Piano. When she responded to a request to auditions open at age nine years old, with no previous experience in acting when she was selected for the role of Flora McGrath part. As a teenager, her family moved from Canada to the United States. Paquin had the role of lead in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and had a minor part as Jane Eyre in the film when she was only a child. Paquin played a minor role in the television movie of 1997 adaptation of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. She also played the Princess of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). She portrayed teens on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) as well as Almost Famous (2000). In addition, she portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
