Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to twelve poor kids who would grew up as a unit eventually, realized very quickly how to navigate her way out of difficulties thanks to her incredibly creative imagination. Even before learning to compose or read the first song she ever composed, she was composing the music she composed herself. After 8 years of age, she was playing her first guitar. At age 11 she started singing on the local radio station in Knoxville, Tennessee. She released her debut album that same year Gold Band Records, a small independent label. In high school, she made her name locally however she longed for a bigger stage. Her move to Nashville just after she graduated in 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first track to hit the charts for Monument Records. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female vocalist to join his syndicated show until this point. Parton took the offer in 1967 and signed with RCA Records in 1968 and joined in the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. In 1974, she quit the show because of the success of her singles like Joshua Coats Of Many Colors or Jolene was outstripping their joint releases. After their split, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and the song reached number. 1 for the first time in 1974.
